(Nasdaq:CHEF), a premier distributor of specialty food products in the United States, announced today that it has filed a prospectus supplement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed public offering of 3,300,000 shares of its common stock. In addition, certain selling stockholders have granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase an additional 495,000 shares of the Company's common stock from them. The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay outstanding borrowings under its revolving credit facility as well as for general corporate purposes, which may
include acquisitions of complementary businesses. The Company will not receive any proceeds from the sale of shares by the selling stockholders.
