The Chefs' Warehouse, Inc. Issues $100 Million of Senior Notes

RIDGEFIELD, Conn., April 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Chefs' Warehouse, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHEF), a premier distributor of specialty food products in the United States, today announced that it has issued $100 million in guaranteed senior secured notes to Prudential Capital Group, an institutional investment division of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU), through a private placement transaction. The notes bear an annual interest rate of 5.90% and mature in 2023.

The proceeds from the private placement have been used primarily to refinance debt and for general corporate purposes.

"This transaction provides us greater financial flexibility in the event we identify strategic opportunities that may require additional capital and also allows us to extend the average duration of our liabilities at an attractive rate," said Chris Pappas, chairman and chief executive officer of The Chefs' Warehouse, Inc.
